“They” say it might snow this weekend. “They” are also the people that put NYC under a panic attack with hurricane Irene that made as much noise as a summer rain-shower. However, the idea of flurries or anything as peaceful as icy confetti fluttering above you got me thinking of all things white. It didn’t help walking into Anthropologie on 5th Ave. earlier this week either. Christmas windows set. Yarn trees. Snow kissed owls. My heart was bursting with excitement.

Naturally my wardrobe consists of 4 vibrant colors: camel.black.white.heather grey. Add denim and you have the fab 5. Add anything else and my skin begins to crawl and the skin will match that “blaring shade of red” in mohair. Isn’t it amazing how the brain sub-consciously works? All my whites are too summer optic. I need warmer tones; french vanillas and snow cap whites. Hand-knit sweaters and garter stitch hats. Multi-use gloves for texting and photo-taking. Natural furs and warm pleated silks. Suede jeggings. Isabel Marant anything this season. Textured sweaters. Feathers and fringe. But what really has me obsessing over the candy coated whites…..the presentation what Marc Jacobs did for Vuitton Spring 2013. A carousel of creativity! Magical horses. Dimensional fabrics. Perhaps that’s where this winter white kick has erupted.
